In the book of Romans 12:1, we are told that the way we live our life is an act of worship. To "offer our bodies as living sacrifices" is an act of worship. God is not interested in a dead sacrifice. Jesus was the final sacrifice that had to die for the sins of mankind. God desires believers who love Him supremely and submit to His will above their own. To do so recognizes that God is in control and we are better off to serve Him than to try to serve ourselves.
Corporate worship is a united body of believers collectively responding to the revelation of God: His holiness, His righteousness, His goodness, His mercy and His grace.
